Weakening connections in heterogeneous mean-field models

نویسندگان

چکیده

Two versions of the susceptible-infected-susceptible epidemic model, which have different transmission rules, are analysed. Both models considered on a weighted network to simulate mitigation in connection between individuals. The analysis is performed through heterogeneous mean-field approach scale-free network. For suitable choice parameters, both exhibit positive infection threshold, when they share same critical exponents associated with behaviour prevalence against rate. Nevertheless, threshold vanishes, these display algebraic decays zero for low values

Simulated Dynamical Weakening and Abelian Avalanches in Mean-Field Driven Threshold Models

John Rundle Center for Computational Science and Engineering, One Shields Avenue, University of California, Davis, CA 95616 (Dated: December 28, 2004) Abstract Mean-field coupled lattice maps are used to approximate the physics of driven threshold systems with long range interactions. However, they are incapable of modeling specific features of the dynamic instability responsible for generating...

Optimization in mean field models

The non-rigorous cavity method of statistical mechanics, originally developed in the study of spin glasses and other disordered systems, has led to a number of purely mathematical predictions. Several of them can be found in the remarkable book [17] by Marc Mézard, Giorgio Parisi and Miguel Angel Virasoro. Establishing these predictions rigorously remains a challenge to probability theory. Impo...

Mean-Field Models for Heterogeneous Networks of Two-Dimensional Integrate and Fire Models

We analytically derive mean-field models for all-to-all coupled networks of heterogeneous, adapting, two-dimensional integrate and fire neurons. The class of models we consider includes the Izhikevich, adaptive exponential, and quartic integrate and fire models. The heterogeneity in the parameters leads to different moment closure assumptions that can be made in the derivation of the mean-field...

Chains of Mean Field Models

We consider a collection of Curie-Weiss (CW) spin systems, possibly with a random field, each of which is placed along the positions of a one-dimensional chain. The CW systems are coupled together by a Kac-type interaction in the longitudinal direction of the chain and by an infinite range interaction in the direction transverse to the chain. Our motivations for studying this model come from re...

Mean field and propagation of chaos in multi-class heterogeneous loss models

We consider a system consisting of N parallel servers, where jobs with different resource requirements arrive and are assigned to the servers for processing. Each server has a finite resource capacity and therefore can serve only a finite number of jobs at a time. We assume that different servers have different resource capacities. A job is accepted for processing only if the resource requested...
